How to make an Aperol Spritz. An easy recipe for a refreshing Summer spritzer.

Aperol spritz is one of the easiest and refreshing drinks to make that will wow your guests this summer. It will be like you are sipping a spritzer in Italy. Now Aperol Spritz is seeing a comeback or a revival much like everything these days. It’s a cocktail that has been around for awhile but rarely had I seen it ordered. I am not going to lie one of the housewives (I believe Lisa Rhinna) ordered it on TV and it had been on my mind ever since.

I always keep a running bucket list of different cocktails I want to try and I took note of this. Also on this list a French 75. Recently on a girls trip to Savannah I decided to order an Aperol Spritz with my lunch and it was so light and refreshing, perfect for a hot summer day.

So what is Aperol?

Aperol is an Apéritif which is a drink usually served before a meal. It is a liqueur from Italy by Campari made of gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona. Although it’s made of these ingredients when served with an orange it almost taste like a refreshing orange spritzer.

  1. This looks so refreshing! I have never had Aperol, but now I definitely need to try it!

  2. You had me at prosecco! I have never heard of Aperol, but I will be looking for this when I am out. The drink looks so refreshing, and I love anything orange. Can’t wait to try it.

  3. I must find some of this Aperol! I have to admit, I had never heard of it before. There is nothing quite as refreshing as citrus flavors in the summertime.

  4. I love Prosecco, but I’ve never tried Apersol. I’m going to have to get some to make one of these this summer.
