In the past few months I have moved into a new home and have increasingly been discouraged by the art work that I own from my old apartment. I think I am at a different place in my life than I was before so the art just does not seem right for the space at this time. Being a designer I am overly opinionated when it comes to art which is why my walls are still fairly blank after months of living here.
In the past I have used Minted for invitations for wedding and baby showers and I have always been extremely happy with the designs especially the print quality. Only recently have I discovered that they also sell art. Now I have mentioned I am picky when it comes to art. I am at the stage of my life where I don't want to be buying fake art or "FART" as I like to call it. What I love about minted is that they have an artist marketplace created by independent artists. I love how I feel like I can support artists beyond just a local level while knowing of Minted's quality printing capabilities.
Lately I have been loving watercolor and floral. I found myself loving the artist Yao Cheng. I have pinned several of her paintings. When I saw the Flora Peach paintings and that there are two complimenting pieces with a salvaged frame I knew that these would look perfect in my hallway!
My office is a bit less serious so realistic interpretation is not necessary. I love the looseness and flow of this "Muted Bouquet" art piece along with the colors. I especially love the complimenting blue wood frame that you can add on.
I think I am sensing a theme here. I might just love floral art work! I am in love with this botanical print from Karidy Walker and could also see it in my office/bedroom. Would it be too much to have both? I love that these artists have stores on Minted. Many sell art but also design invitations. So if you truly love an artists they can touch different moments of your life.
Now I couldn't leave you with just florals. I have always had a deep love for abstract art. The simplicity of shapes and colors always seem to shine through. I want to leave you with two fun pieces that would look perfect in any room of my house.
I'll keep you guys updated on what I end up purchasing for which room. New home tour to come soon!
