A DIY paver patio transforms this backyard into an oasis.

This is a sponsored post from Pavestone but all opinions are my own.

The paver patio is finally done! I am so excited to share it.  We just finished installing, landscaping, fencing in and furnishing this paver patio. Just shy of a year after moving into my house I had some terrible plumbing issues which led to my back deck being destroyed and my entire yard being dug up. My dad and I have spent the last year landscaping and creating a backyard oasis including this paver patio. (if you want to see the destruction check it out here).

We worked with Pavestone to figure out what would be the best size patio for my outdoor entertaining needs, what pavers to use and how to design the patio would work for my needs. I wanted to be able to dine outside but also have room for a fire on a cool summer night. I knew I needed room for two seating areas. Ultimately we ended up with a 10ft x 22ft patio using grey RumbleStone from Pavestone.

I couldn’t be happier with how the patio came out. I have spent almost every moment of this Summer in my backyard. It feels like I have actually expanded the square footage of my house with this addition space outside. My kitchen in the house is on the smaller side so I have a hard time entertaining more than 4 or 5 people. With this space outside I was able to have about 25 people over and not feel like we were over crowded.

After using the patio a few months I knew we needed to add a privacy fence. See I live on a corner lot right near a big park which means I am on the walking route. This led to a lot of conversations with strangers. It was nice at first but who really wants to entertain friends and have the whole neighborhood watching. This was one of the best additions we made… well along with the fire pit!

Wondering if you could do this in your yard? You totally can. Pavestone has some gorgeous patios on their project gallery on their site. It sparked a lot of ideas and inspired me to create this backyard oasis.

I am so happy we undertook such a large project. While I am not looking to sell my house anytime soon I know that this patio is what’s going to sell this house eventually.

Sharing is caring!
