DIY Two Toned Wine Rack #IkeaHack

DIY Two Toned Wine Rack #IkeaHack

This month I am teaming up with Hickory Hardware and 8 other bloggers to transform an Ikea Rast dresser into anything we want! I have always wanted to make an Ikea Hack and here's my chance! Now the only question is what do I make?! Wrapping my head around this wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. I recently moved and have not found a place yet for my wine glasses and wine bottles. I immediately knew this is what I had to do. The next question was how?

Easy DIY Burlap Table Runner

Easy DIY Burlap Table Runner

Christmas is my favorite holiday to decorate for. It is the one holiday that I feel like you can go all out for. Growing up my mom always decorated our mantel. I was a bit sad moving into my house that I didn't have a fireplace to decorate. My solution was to get a side board or a sofa table that I almost treat as a faux mantel in my living room. Consumer Crafts was awesome enough to send me a gigantic box filled with every holiday crafting supply you can imagine and challenge me to come up with a holiday craft. So today we are going to start decorating that mantel with an easy DIY burlap table runner made out of burlap ribbon from Consumer Crafts.

DIY Fall Wreath

DIY Fall Wreath

Finally life has slowed down a bit and I am able to get into the fall mood that is beyond just ordering a pumpkin spice latte at a counter. This weekend one of my friends came up for a girls getaway and we decided to have a crafty relaxing Sunday making fall wreaths. The weather was so perfect 70's in October?! Yes, please. So since the weather was so perfect and wreaths can be messy we sat outside on my back deck and made them under the ever changing leaves.

Georgia Peach Bridal Shower

Georgia Peach Bridal Shower

My brother is getting married and it's time to celebrate. He is marrying his girlfriend of 10 years and we couldn't be more excited to make Danielle officially part of our family. The couple met in Savannah Georgia where my brother was going to college and Danielle lived. So it was only natural to throw her a Georgia peach bridal shower up here in New England. I always say the best parties are all about the details. Details make a party memorable, a good theme helps a little too.

French Provincial End Table Makeover

French Provincial End Table Makeover

A little over a year ago I was browsing my local thrift shop and saw this French Provincial end table for only $7.99. I immediately thought that would be a beautiful piece for my bedroom if I refinished it. Well as it goes when you have a project for yourself it usually gets put on the back burner. So this piece moved with me to the new house then sat getting collecting dust in my basement. Until last week! I had a long weekend off from work and I decided this was my weekend project. So I said no to all my potential plans and went down into the basement to paint!

How to Update Handles with Rub 'n Buff

Often the first thing you do to update a piece of furniture you're making over is replacing the handles. That doesn't always need to be the case. If you like the look of the handles with the piece there's a simple way to give the handles new life. I just finished a new project (check back Monday) I refinished a French Provincial end table. I loved the regal feel of the piece so I decided to keep the handles.

DIY Large Glitter Confetti

DIY Large Glitter Confetti

My friend's sister recently turned thirty. They were having a small get together at a restaurant and wanted to decorate the table in a way that made her feel special on her day but was also very easy to clean up. Let's face it restaurants hate confetti. That's where I came in she asked if there was any way to make large confetti.... (insert baffled look from me). With a pack of glitter card stock at hand I made 5 inch confetti. Yup 5 inches and they looked awesome! Who knew!

DIY Zip Code Pallet Sign

11 DIY Map Craft Projects

11 DIY Map Craft Projects

I've always had a slight obsession with maps without really realizing it. Recently it was pointed out that I have a tendency to craft with maps. I think this is because growing up my Dad was a long haul truck driver so we always had an atlas around or went on trips with him where he would show me the plotted out roots on the map so I could learn to follow along, these were the days before GPS. Now when the mapbooks were well used or a new one was purchased I always took the old one. It was the upcycler in me at any early age.

Back in October my brother and his girlfriend got engaged after being together for 10 years! So an engagement party was definitely in order. We kept it small with just immediate family at my house, which is small so I couldn't fit much more than that! The week before Michaels was having one of their crazy sales on scrapbook paper with an additional coupon for your whole purchase. So needless to say I had a lot of paper on hand including this gorgeous metallic gold.
