It may be August but Summer isn't over yet. So let's talk Summer drinks! Let's face it, it's hot. We are just coming off a heat wave here in New England where it was 90 degrees all last week and there is nothing more refreshing than a nice iced drink after being out in that weather. I have scoured all my favorite blogs and found some amazing drinks for you to try before the Summer is over. So scroll through and find one of eleven drinks to try from cocktails, lemonade, slushies and iced coffee. Keep cool and hydrated it's hot out there. Enjoy!Read More
If you don't know I am coffee obsessed. I am always looking for different ways to make coffee or how to really improve the coffee drinks I make at home. A few years ago I was on vacation and stumbled upon this coffee shop. Now one of my favorite things about exploring new areas is to check out their local coffee shops. We'll this on inparticular I have never forgotten because when I ordered my iced coffee I had seen them put in brown ice cubes. Moment of genius struck me..... They had made their ice cubes out of coffee!!! So as the ice melts your coffee doesn't get weaker it gets stronger. Mind blown.Read More
Today I am sharing my favorite cold brew iced coffee recipe that can be made in a mason jar. Some may say that I am an iced coffee or maybe just coffee (in general) addict. Any where I travel I am always on the hunt for a local coffee shop. I think part of this is the coffee shop culture since I freelanced for so long and when I was in grad school that is where the majority of my work took place. Now in all these travels to coffeehouses I have developed a love for cold brew iced coffee.Read More
Who doesn't love their $5 lattes, show of hands? Who likes paying $5 for them? That's what I thought. In an effort to save some money and not go to Starbucks every weekend I started a quest to make myself a quality coffee on the weekend. Someone at work had told me that she places milk in a cup and microwaves it for 30 seconds creating her version of steamed milk without a frother. So this past weekend my sister and I were chatting that to get foam you need air. So why not shake it in a mason jar before microwaving it.Read More
Along with an ugly sweater party my work is also having a Christmas cookie contest. Now I am naturally competitive it runs in my family. Don't get me started on our family game nights! A few years back my sister had made melted snowman cookies for Christmas and I knew these would be perfect for the contest. Also any excuse to go to my sisters to bake is a welcomed one. Now I don't want to cheat so I did not ask my sister to make these I just asked for her guidance.Read More
I recently had a housewarming party which means I had tons of leftovers. I am not the biggest fan of leftovers unless I get a little inventive. My brothers fiancee makes the most amazing warm spinach and artichoke dip when I saw that there was still a lot left at the end of the night I was excited.Read More
So last weekend I went to use the oven for the first time in my new house. After preheating I went to put my cinnamon buns in the oven and it was stone cold to my surprise. I think I was more crushed over the fact that cinnamon buns weren't going to happen than that the stove wasn't working.Read More

I was taking some much needed time off from writing and crafting this week, not planning to post until Friday. But I came across these amazing girl scout cookie recipes last night and just couldn't keep them to myself. I am not sure if it is just because I am constantly thinking about girl scout cookies or because I just bought about 8 boxes from the girls outside my grocery store but I have cookies on my mind!
The blogger I stumbled upon through instagram last night is Something Swanky (desserts and design). And let me just tell you her website is adorable! But enough about that what about the cookies! Here are some of her Girl Scout cookie recipes I have on my list to make.Read More
