Shutter Holiday Card Holder

Shutter Holiday Card Holder

I love decorating my house for the holidays with items I already have. In this case I had plantation shutters in my basement that I had picked up over a year and a half ago at the Brimfield antique fair. I didn't really buy this with intention but just knew I loved the shutters.

French Provincial End Table Makeover

French Provincial End Table Makeover

A little over a year ago I was browsing my local thrift shop and saw this French Provincial end table for only $7.99. I immediately thought that would be a beautiful piece for my bedroom if I refinished it. Well as it goes when you have a project for yourself it usually gets put on the back burner. So this piece moved with me to the new house then sat getting collecting dust in my basement. Until last week! I had a long weekend off from work and I decided this was my weekend project. So I said no to all my potential plans and went down into the basement to paint!

How to Update Handles with Rub 'n Buff

How to Update Handles with Rub 'n Buff

Often the first thing you do to update a piece of furniture you're making over is replacing the handles. That doesn't always need to be the case. If you like the look of the handles with the piece there's a simple way to give the handles new life. I just finished a new project (check back Monday) I refinished a French Provincial end table. I loved the regal feel of the piece so I decided to keep the handles.

How to Stencil a Pallet Sign and Free Cut File

How to Stencil a Pallet Sign and Free Cut File

Pallet signs sure have been popular on Weekend Craft the past few months. So I thought today I would show you how I stencil pallet signs. This was also great timing because its Silhouette Challenge time and this month's theme was home decor with the added bonus of using wood. Needless to say this month's challenge was right up my alley. Now I get request all the time from family and friends to make them a project that they have seen on the site and this was on of those occasions. You may have seen this sign before here when I was getting ready to head to a show.

11 DIY Map Craft Projects

11 DIY Map Craft Projects

I've always had a slight obsession with maps without really realizing it. Recently it was pointed out that I have a tendency to craft with maps. I think this is because growing up my Dad was a long haul truck driver so we always had an atlas around or went on trips with him where he would show me the plotted out roots on the map so I could learn to follow along, these were the days before GPS. Now when the mapbooks were well used or a new one was purchased I always took the old one. It was the upcycler in me at any early age.

DIY Recycled Easter Bunny Vases

DIY Recycled Easter Bunny Vases

Easter is just around the corner and I can't believe how early it is this year, April 5th. I've been asked to host Easter and my house is very small so the thought of it is stressing me out! So naturally what do I do? I craft.... or eat dip. So why not do both. I had a left over salsa container (coincidence?) that I thought would make a great vase for the dinner table on Easter. I ran the jar through the dishwasher.

Mint Painted End Table Makeover

Mint Painted End Table Makeover

A few weeks ago I scored this table after a yard sale was over. I was searching for a yard sale I had found on my yard sale app, after going up and down the street 3 times I was about to give up. I stopped at a house with a sweet couple chatting with a neighbor in their drive way. They were standing there with this table next to them. I asked them about the street number and it turned out I had put in County St. instead of County Rd. in my GPS.

Pallet Signs and the Silhouette Challenge

It's that time again! Silhouette Challenge time! This months theme was all about home decor. Which is very appropriate since I just moved into my new home. Anyway I had two big events coming up (Signature Finishes opening and Brimfield) where I needed to create some pallet signs to sell. So I thought I would share those with you this month.
