How to make a coffee cup gift card holder with your Cricut. A great teachers gift. Free svg file to make with your Silhouette too.

We all have a favorite teacher. That one teacher that sticks with you in your memories through your adult years. I don’t ever remember giving her a gift but I am sure I did. I do remember she gave me my first journal. I wrote in it every day and covered the front of it with DO NOT READ and KEEP OUT labels.

For all the teachers we love out there lets show them some appreciation either for teacher appreciation week or at the end of the school year. Today I am showing you how to make a coffee cup gift card holder.

What teacher doesn’t need some more caffeine to help them get through the day.

Today I am teaming up with 5 bloggers to share some of our favorites teacher gifts for teacher appreciation wreath. Make sure to stay until the very end to see all of their projects.

What you’ll need

Let’s get started

Open the coffee cup gift card design space file. Make sure the coffee cup is wider and taller than your gift card. Make sure all cut pieces are on different cut layers or simply turn off and on the layer you want to cut.

Load your first mat with Deluxe Paper Foil Embossed. This will be for the body of the coffee cup. Click make it in design space load in your light grip mat and press the flashing Cricut C to cut. Once you are done cutting use the spatula tool to gently take the cut paper off of the mat.

Repeat this process with the lid and the coffee sleeve.

I am obsessed with the Deluxe Paper Foil Embossed have you gotten a chance to see the 3D stars I made with the same paper?

Once all of your pieces are cut out you are ready to assemble your gift card holder. I like to use zig glue when crafting. I like the control of having it in a pen form.

Fold the kraft paper around the coffee cup. Glue the front of the kraft paper down and just the edge of the back. This leaves a pocket for your gift card. Then glue the lid onto the coffee cup.

Once glued together you are ready to write who the gift is two or from. Have bad hand wrinting? You could also Cricut pens tow write who it is from.

Just like that you have a coffee cup gift card holder. It only took a few minutes so you should be able to make a few more dependent on the number of teachers your child has.
